Job summary

McDermott Will & Schulte in the United States seeks an Intellectual Property Project Assistant II to support the IP Prosecution, Transactions & Strategy practice group. The role provides essential administration and file management, under supervision, with focus on timely document handling and client reporting.

You will collaborate with IP Filing Specialists and paralegals, manage case files in the DMS, and assist with filing patent-related documents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least three years of related work experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to learn new concepts quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare time-sensitive client reporting letters for USPTO actions and international IP matters.
• Assist with invoice intake and billing in the firm’s DMS and Chrome River.
• Open new client matters with IP Practice Specialists and Information Governance.
• Maintain and organize client folders in the DMS and archive documents.
• Update dockets daily and perform status checks.
