Job summary

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP is seeking an IP Patent Prosecution Supervisor to join our PATSU in Washington, DC. You will oversee prosecution support, manage staff, and coordinate with attorneys to ensure efficient filing with USPTO, WIPO, and foreign offices.

You will train and develop a team, supervise workflow, and drive process improvements while supporting a hybrid in-office/remote schedule with flexible overtime.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years patent experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong proofreading skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Time management and organizational skills to prioritize work.
• Leadership and ability to think critically and guide teams.
• Self-starter with professional demeanor and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage docket and collaborate with IP Prosecution team and attorneys.
• Lead training, hiring, and performance appraisal of patent prosecution specialists.
• Review and approve leave and timesheets.
• Update and improve patent administrative processes, procedures, and forms.
• Lead special projects and overflow work; balance workloads.
• Prepare and review patent prosecution documents and filing materials.
• Monitor docket; create client status charts and reports.
