Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, a leading global law firm, seeks an IP Patent Prosecution Specialist for its Intellectual Property Patent Support Unit in Washington, DC. The role supports patent prosecution activities and prepares/files docs for international and foreign national applications.

Reporting to the Patent Prosecution Supervisor, the position requires a Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years’ relevant experience, strong organization, communication skills, and proficiency with CPI Patent and MS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of patent prosecution experience.
• Strong organizational skills to prioritize multiple projects.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and files documents with the USPTO (New Patent Applications, IDS, Preliminary Amendments, formalities).
• Prepares client reporting letters and correspondence regarding formalities, Official Actions, Notices of Allowance and Letters Patent.
• Prepares and files documents for international/foreign national patent applications with WIPO and foreign offices per guidelines.
• Analyzes PTO-issued documents for accuracy (filing receipts, assignment docs, etc.).
• Prepares patent prosecution documents, including transcription, producing applications, reports, proofreading, and distribution.
