Job summary

Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough in Boston is seeking an IP Docketing Specialist to join its Intellectual Property team. The role focuses on maintaining docket records, monitoring deadlines, and processing IP-related actions across patent, trademark, and other IP matters.

The ideal candidate has at least three years in IP docketing, experience with CPi, and proven ability to manage high-volume work accurately while collaborating with attorneys and paralegals.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of intellectual property docketing experience, preferably in a law firm environment.
  • Proficiency with the CPi docketing system and a strong understanding of intellectual property docketing processes.
  • Experience with patent and/or trademark docketing, with trademark docketing experience strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review and triage high-volume correspondence from clients, foreign counsel, and IP offices, routing as appropriate.
  • Docket new actions and update existing matters.
  • Maintain accurate docket records and monitor critical deadlines; review docket reports.
  • Process docket clearance and de-docketing requests; support file transfers and matter maintenance.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff to identify and resolve data discrepancies; support reporting and data quality initiatives.
