Job summary

Norton Rose Fulbright US LLP invites a Docketing Specialist to support its Intellectual Property practice. The role focuses on maintaining the docketing system, managing deadlines, and assisting attorneys with varied administrative tasks in a fast-paced setting.

Strong organization and independence are essential. The position is ideally located in Austin, Dallas, Houston, or San Antonio, Texas, with a hybrid in-office policy and potential for remote work upon supervisor request.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience.
• Experience with US and foreign trademark docketing is required.
• Proficient in MS Office products, including Excel and Word.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer service oriented.
• Knowledge of docketing software applications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create records within the database and docket or calendar due dates; de-docket when appropriate.
• Cultivate relationships and follow up with attorneys/paralegals on actions due.
• Docket and review all US and foreign prosecution mail, including opposition, interference and/or appellate matters.
• Monitor and update attorney dockets daily with attention to deadlines.
• Intake and auditing of transfer files; maintain knowledge of latest IP rules (domestic and foreign).
• Investigate and troubleshoot docketing issues; perform other duties as assigned.
