Job summary

Troutman Pepper Locke LLP is seeking an IP Docket Specialist to manage and quality-check US and non-US patent docketing across the firm. You will collaborate with the IP Docket Manager to train staff and implement docketing policies, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.

This role emphasizes data quality, interaction with attorneys and clients, and meticulous documentation handling within the IP team. A strong background in patent law and docket software is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training/experience.
• Paralegal training is beneficial.
• Minimum eight years of progressive IP docketing experience.
• Experience with docket software applications.
• Experience with domestic/foreign patent matters.

Responsibilities

• Quality control reviews of US and Non-US patent docketing entries.
• Create and implement new training materials.
• Develop and implement new docketing policies to mitigate risk.
• Manage data quality during portfolio transfers.
• Backup for Docketing Specialists to maintain SOPs.
• Guide and address docket-related inquiries for IP team.
• Ensure docket database accuracy and generate reports.
• Collaborate with Docketing Specialists to meet IP goals.
• Maintain confidentiality with attorneys, staff, and clients.
• Ensure accuracy of documents received from USPTO and others.
• Provide detailed client and deadline information to IP attorneys.
