Job summary

Troutman Pepper Locke LLP is seeking an IP Docket Specialist to manage US and non-US patent docketing with strong attention to accuracy and confidentiality. The role requires coordinating with the IP Docket Manager to train staff and ensure compliance with docketing procedures.

Ideal candidates will have eight years of IP experience, familiar with docket software and IP management systems, and possess solid communication and proofreading skills. This on-site position is based in Pittsburgh.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Paralegal studies or equivalent training is beneficial.
• Minimum eight years of progressive IP experience in docketing.
• Experience with docket software applications.
• Strong understanding of domestic and foreign patent matters.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quality control reviews of US and Non-US patent docketing entries.
• Assist in creating and implementing new training materials.
• Support development and implementation of docketing policies to reduce risk.
• Manage incoming data from transfer-in portfolios with attention to attorneys' needs.
• Provide back-up to Docketing Specialists and maintain SOPs.
• Address docket-related inquiries for IP team, including attorneys and staff.
• Ensure docket database accuracy and generate reports as requested.
• Collaborate with Docketing Specialists to meet IP department goals.
• Maintain confidentiality with attorneys, staff, and clients.
• Ensure accuracy/completeness of docketing documents from USPTO and other agencies.
