Job summary

OPERS, the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System, in downtown Columbus, seeks an Investment Accountant to handle investment accounting duties, including general ledger entries and investment operations. Qualifications

What you’ll do

Reporting to the Manager of Investment Accounting, this position is responsible for performing investment accounting duties with an emphasis on general ledger entries and investment operations. Additionally, you would work collaboratively with the team to perform all functions related to cash settlement and financial reporting, including the period-end close process and back office services for our alternative investment portfolio

• A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field along with 3 years of accounting experience.
• If you do not have a bachelor’s degree, a high school diploma, GED or associate’s degree along with 7 years of accounting experience may be substituted.
• Experience with Alternative Investments is strongly preferred.
• At least an intermediate knowledge level of MS Office Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook is required.
• A background in investments with knowledge of investments terminology is extremely helpful
