Job summary

The City of Galveston is seeking a Parts & Supply Coordinator to manage purchasing and inventory for Public Works and Municipal Utilities. You will prepare requisitions, coordinate with vendors, and ensure accurate records for maintenance orders and supplies.

The role requires strong organizational skills, two years in purchasing/inventory and the ability to interact professionally with staff and the public. This is an on-site position in Galveston, TX.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years’ experience in purchasing, inventory control and staff support operations or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Purchase and maintain inventory of parts and supplies for Public Works and Municipal Utilities.
• Create requisitions and staff reports for purchasing activities.
• Research and document parts and supplies; consult with vendors.
• Oversee and document maintenance work orders.
• Maintain inventory of parts, materials, chemicals, office and janitorial supplies.
• Process staff uniforms; manage returns and invoices.
• Support department staff with office services and customer interactions.
