Job summary

SAFEbuilt, Inc. is seeking a Public Works Inventory Clerk to support municipal Public Works operations. You will manage warehouse activities, inventory controls, distribution of supplies and equipment, and coordinate maintenance with vendors.

The role requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work in both warehouse and field settings, including after-hours emergency support and hurricane response as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of inventory control/warehouse experience or equivalent.
• Valid forklift operator certification required.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, stocking, labeling, organizing, storing and distributing materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Receive deliveries, unload materials with a forklift, verify against documentation.
• Maintain organized warehouse/storage areas and optimize space.
• Maintain physical inventory controls and reconcile with system records.
• Enter and track service requests, work orders, and inventory transactions in asset/work order system.
• Coordinate vehicle and equipment maintenance with outside vendors and track records.
• Procure equipment, supplies, and services per City purchasing policies.
• Perform routine inspections and test small equipment for maintenance needs.
• Monitor fuel inventory and coordinate monthly orders with records.
• Provide after-hours logistical support during Public Works emergencies and hurricane response.
• Assist with hurricane preparedness and recovery activities as needed.
