Job summary

Walman Optical in Traverse City, MI, is seeking a Distribution Clerk (Inventory and Lens Order) to accurately enter material orders and select products for Rx and stock.

You will key purchase orders, review inventory reports, perform cycle counts, and ensure compliance with company policies while maintaining an organized work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
• 2 years of experience in a distribution/logistics environment.
• Basic use of laptop, keyboard and 10-key typing.
• High attention to detail.
• Good reading, writing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Timely and accurate keying of lens and/or frame purchase orders into computer.
• Interpret inventory, purchase orders and fill rates reports.
• Perform cycle counts and periodic inventory.
• Apply promotions, policies and procedures to order entry.
• Recheck Rx’s for correctness before lab processing.
• Match vendor shipping memos and invoices and submit documents for payment.
• Maintain lab operating system updates and a neat work area.
• Follow attendance and safety rules and maintain confidentiality.
• Train and guide less experienced employees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
