Job summary

Shaw’s and Star Market in Burlington, MA is seeking a Receiver / Inventory Control Clerk (ICC) to oversee Direct Store Delivery, ensuring merchandise is received accurately and stocked. You’ll walk the store daily to scan DSD items, identify shortages or overages, and coordinate with order writers, night crew, merchandisers, and the backroom staff.

This detail‑oriented, tech‑savvy role supports inventory accuracy, donates monitoring, and promotional execution.

Qualifications

• Experience receiving, tracking, and reconciling inventory in a retail or grocery environment.
• Basic computer skills including email and Excel.
• Attention to damaged, expired, or salvageable merchandise and processing credits accurately.
• Strong organizational skills to maintain backroom and receiving areas.
• Problem-solving abilities to resolve inventory and delivery issues.
• Effective communication with vendors, drivers, store management and associates.
• Physical ability to lift 5–50 lbs, push/pull 10–50 lbs, and stand for extended periods.
• Commitment to customer service and accurate inventory for store readiness.

Responsibilities

• Oversee DSD operations and ensure merchandise is received and stocked.
• Walk the store daily to scan DSD items and identify stock shortages or overages.
• Collaborate with order writers, night crew, merchandisers, and clerks.
• Communicate with Store Director to support inventory accuracy and promotions.
• Monitor donations and manage grocery and non-perishable inventories.
• Maintain a secure, clean, and organized backroom and receiving area.
