Position Overview: The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for updating and maintaining raw materials inventory accuracy in inventory management systems, including, but not limited to, entering all receivers, production consumptions, adjustments and location transfers by item and lot number.

Language Skills: English proficiency required. Spanish is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Amount of Travel Involved: None.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety procedures and work as safe as possible at all times.
  • Place all non-conforming materials and ingredients on hold, and immediately prepare corresponding documentation.
  • Run a lot report out of appropriate operating systems to capture any upcoming expired or already expired ingredients; determine if the ingredients are scheduled to be used prior to expiration.
  • Request extensions via email to supplier and/or customers; via supplier portal.
  • Submit defective material report via customer portal for non-confirming materials.
  • Tag hold items and place items on hold and “unavailable” in appropriate operating systems.
  • Distribute hold forms to appropriate recipients which may be internal departments, customers, and/or suppliers.
  • Post Holds to Excel spreadsheet for tracking purposes.
  • Follow-up on all holds frequently for final disposition.
  • Close dispositioned holds and update system status, accordingly, distribute to appropriate recipients which may be internal departments, customers, and/or suppliers.
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory status.
  • Follow all policy and procedures.
  • Flexibility to take on other tasks relating to departmental needs.
  • Participate, as required by the departmental manager, in Plant Quality System implementation and subsequent audits.
  • Direct back up blending consumption process
  • Report out customer pallet reconciliation reports
  • Weekly Raw material KPI reporting
  • Meetings with customers on inventory reconciliations
  • Assist in Raw Material inventory counts
  • Routine internal audit of Raw material processes
  • Must be able to receive all product through SCALE
  • Direct back up for Anaheim’s Non-Conformance Specialist
  • Ensure all CODs are processed
  • Follow up on all item dispositions
  • General
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere and interaction with customers, co-workers, and management.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Work scheduled shift, weekends, and extended hours as required.
  • Regular and punctual attendance.
  • To perform this job successfully, must be able to perform each fundamental task listed above satisfactorily.

  • Required proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook (e-mail), and 10-key by touch

Education And/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred; High School Diploma required.
  • 5 years’ experience; Or, equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be computer literate, and experience with the following systems preferred: SAP, AS400, Avail, SCALE.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus.

Work Environment: In the office, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. While in the warehouse the employee may be exposed to moving vehicles, loud noise, and cold/hot temperatures.
