Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods is seeking an Assistant Inventory Planner to support allocation and replenishment strategies for our less complex businesses. You will help maintain store inventory levels, assist with new store openings, and collaborate with planners to optimize merchandise allocation and replenishment buy strategies.

You will analyze in-stock data, manage item eligibility, and ensure optimal assortment alignment by climate, seasonality, and regional needs across stores.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1–3 years of experience in inventory/planning or related field.
• Proficient in Excel and MS Office.
• Strong written & verbal communication skills.
• Customer-service oriented with problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Allocate bulk purchase orders using the Allocations system.
• Place weekly replenishment purchase orders.
• Maintain store inventory levels by location to support goals.
• Collaborate with Inventory Planner/AR Manager on strategies.
• Review in-stock reporting for key items and adjust actions accordingly.
• Execute new store plans and ensure proper assortments at opening.
• Conduct inventory balancing and respond to instock needs.
