Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods is seeking an Assistant Inventory Planner to support allocation and replenishment strategies for its merchandise team. You will help maintain optimal store inventories to meet financial goals, advertising needs, and regional plans while ensuring new stores open with the right assortments.

You will partner with Inventory Planners, AR Managers, Merchants and Merchandisers to execute buy strategies, analyze stock reports, and respond to instock challenges with timely actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 1–3 years of experience in inventory or planning.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with JDA Allocations or JDA Fulfillment is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Customer-service oriented; self-motivated and results oriented.

Responsibilities

• Allocate bulk purchase orders using the Allocations system.
• Place weekly replenishment purchase orders.
• Maintain proper inventory levels by store location.
• Collaborate with AR Manager to implement allocation strategies.
• Review stock reports and address instock issues.
• Coordinate new store openings with proper assortments.
• Analyze inventory needs by product, size, color.
• Manage item eligibility through the ITEL application.
