Job summary

Par Pacific Holdings is seeking an Inventory Analyst to support multi‑state inventory movements in a refining context. You will work with Commercial and Accounting teams to ensure accurate subledger entries, perform reconciliations, and assess P&L impacts. Proficiency with SAP and Power BI is expected, along with strong Excel skills.

The role emphasizes GAAP understanding, attention to detail, and independent work in a fast‑paced environment across Wyoming, Washington, and Hawaii regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
• Work experience in accounting/finance preferred.
• Experience in the refining industry preferred.
• Understanding of GAAP and ability to apply it to accounting needs.
• SAP experience at a minimum.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Willingness to learn terminal, refinery processes and related logistics.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Ensure inventory movement processes function as expected.
• Collaborate with Commercial and Accounting teams to understand activity and its impact on inventory movements.
• Analyze movement orders, inspection reports, and third‑party inventory statements.
• Oversee entry of inventory movements in subledger and system of record.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve movement imbalances.
• Serve as liaison between movement owners and Inventory Accounting.
• Perform monthly inventory and exchange reconciliations between subledger and system of record.
• Utilize Power BI to assist with reconciliations and reporting.
• Understand P&L and yield impacts from inventory adjustments.
• Review current period purchases/settlements related to title transfer and liabilities.
• Perform required state and governmental reporting.
• Coordinate and support monthly inventory closing process.
• Identify process improvements and automation opportunities.
