Job summary

Tate Inc. is seeking an Inventory Accountant to manage inventory valuation, cost accounting, and financial reporting. This role partners with operations, supply chain, and finance to ensure accurate reporting and cost insights.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, performing reconciliations, analysing variances, preparing journal entries for COGS, and supporting month-end close. Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and strong Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in inventory accounting, cost accounting, or manufacturing finance.
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory records, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
• Perform monthly inventory reconciliations, ensuring alignment between physical counts and system records.
• Analyse inventory variances, identify root causes, and support corrective actions.
• Prepare journal entries related to inventory, COGS, and adjustments.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
• Analyse material, labour, and overhead costs to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with operations to understand production costs and support cost-control initiatives.
