UPMC East is seeking an Invasive Cardiac Technologist to join our team. This full-time role involves performing imaging procedures with independence, while delivering compassionate patient care in a fast-paced environment.

The position requires working four ten-hour daylight shifts on weekdays and includes on-call responsibilities after hours, on weekends, and during holidays. A strong emphasis on teamwork, safety, and quality is essential.

Qualifications

• Performs imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision.
• Demonstrates strong patient and coworker interaction with care, listening, dignity and respect.
• Maintains radiation safety and proper documentation of procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensures images are properly coded and tracked through PACS and archived.
• Interacts with patients and staff, providing clear communication and support.
• Identifies patients using two identifiers and follows universal protocol.
• Reviews patient history and physician orders to optimize data acquisition.
• Documents patient history in the electronic record as required.
• Maintains daily quality control for point-of-care testing devices.
• Communicates procedures clearly to patients to alleviate concerns.
• Assists with positioning and radiographic techniques for diagnostics and interventions.
• Ensures proper preparation, equipment operation, and patient monitoring systems.
• Operates in first assist position when needed.
• Supports aseptic technique and patient safety with time-out processes.
• Has basic knowledge of equipment and supply operation.
• Provides standby call coverage as scheduled.
