Job summary

HCA Healthcare seeks a Special Procedures Technologist to operate imaging equipment, support radiologists in interventional procedures, and maintain sterile technique in the Interventional Suite.

The role requires MRT certification, ARRT credentials, and 2+ years of radiology experience in acute care, with preference for interventional experience. On-site Austin area position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Radiology program or AMA-approved program
• Associates degree or higher in Radiologic Technology
• Current MRT certification with Texas Medical Board
• Current BLS certification
• ARRT (R) certification
• ARRT (VI) certification
• Two years’ Radiology Technologist experience in an acute care setting
• 1–2 years Interventional Technologist experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist with all procedures performed in the Interventional Suite
• Demonstrate proficiency with equipment in the Interventional Suite including Fluoro, Pan Table, Med Rad injector, Monitors, Ultrasound Unit, Control panels for digital acquisition and image transfer
• Demonstrate sterile technique as appropriate and maintain sterile field while performing scrub position
• Prepare patient and room for exams while managing wires and other components required for procedure
• Serve as circulator during procedure including pulling supplies, altering technique as phase of exam requires, operating injector, and communicating with patient/family
• Provide patient care throughout procedure while explaining the procedure to patient and ensuring understanding
• Pull sheath and hold pressure to manage puncture/access site
• Maintain par level of supplies and complete special order requests
• Ensure compliance to Conscious Sedation policy and procedure
