Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Special Procedures Technologist I to perform routine special procedure exams, X-ray and fluoroscopy, including interventional radiology support for operating room cases, using digital radiography and fluoroscopy.

The role requires patient preparation, sterile technique, and strict adherence to radiation safety to ensure optimal patient care and safety. A one-year radiologic technologist experience and credentialed certifications are expected, with ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved credentialing education program.
• Proficient reading, writing and speaking English for patient safety and care.
• Basic familiarity with radiology information systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine special procedure exams and radiology procedures with sterile technique.
• Assists physicians during procedures and with patient preparation.
• Maintains ALARA and radiation safety standards for patient and staff safety.
• Documents procedures and charges accurately and promptly.
• Communicates clearly with patients and healthcare team.
