Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist to perform imaging procedures in accordance with scope and standards of practice. The role requires ARRT radiography certification, VI certification within 24 months, CPR, and compliance with HIPAA and privacy policies.

The position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus with a 2-year commitment and requires knowledge of aseptic technique, patient positioning, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or certification from a technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Radiography Certification and Registration (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Vascular Interventional Radiography Certification and Registration (VI) - ARRT; within 24 months of hire; VI requirement details vary by hire date
• CPR – American Heart Association
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Responsibilities

• Assists in setting up the interventional suite with appropriate instruments and supplies.
• Utilizes proper aseptic techniques and practices standard precautions; handles medication, contrast, and specimens per policy.
• Assists with preparing, positioning, and draping patients and ensuring correct patient and surgical site.
• Understands and adapts to interventional provider preferences and patient care variables; updates related materials.
• Completes all required documentation for procedures (regulatory, billing, image distribution).
• Maintains adequate supplies and participates in inventory control.
• Implements radiation protection and patient safety standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
