Job summary

Albany Medical College is seeking an Interventional Pulmonologist to join its Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. The position encompasses outpatient and inpatient care, plus interventional procedures in a teaching hospital setting.

You will perform advanced bronchoscopy, EBUS, airway stenting, and complex airway management while contributing to education, research, and quality improvement with a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree.
• Interventional Pulmonary Fellowship trained and AABIP board certified or eligible.
• Experience with EBUS, navigational bronchoscopy, rigid bronchoscopy, airway stenting, and complex airway disease.
• Interest in an academic medical center environment including education, research, and/or quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care to patients with complex pulmonary and airway disorders.
• Perform advanced bronchoscopy procedures: EBUS, navigational bronchoscopy, robotic/rigid bronchoscopy, airway stenting, tumor debulking and ablation, central airway obstruction management, and bronchoscopy of nodules.
• Evaluate and manage pleural disease and perform thoracentesis, chest tube placement, indwelling pleural catheter placement, and medical thoracoscopy as appropriate.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor residents, fellows, medical students, and advanced practice providers.
