Job summary

Albany Medical College is seeking an Interventional Pulmonologist to join the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. The role encompasses outpatient and inpatient care, FCA, and an active fellowship program, with a focus on evolving interventional techniques.

The candidate will participate in education, research, and quality improvement within a dynamic academic health system that values cross-disciplinary collaboration and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Interventional Pulmonary Fellowship trained and AABIP board certified or eligible.
• Experience with procedures including EBUS, navigational bronchoscopy, rigid bronchoscopy, airway stenting, and management of complex airway disease.
• Interest in an academic medical center environment including education, research, and quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive clinical care to patients with complex pulmonary and airway disorders.
• Perform advanced diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy procedures: EBUS, navigational bronchoscopy, robotic bronchoscopy, rigid bronchoscopy, airway stenting, tumor debulking/ablation, central airway obstruction management, and bronchoscopy for nodules/masses.
• Evaluate and manage complex pleural disease including pleural effusions and pneumothorax; perform thoracentesis, chest tube placement, indwelling pleural catheter placement, and medical thoracoscopy.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists.
• Educate and mentor residents, fellows, medical students, and advanced practice providers.
