Albany Medical College is seeking an Interventional Pulmonologist to join its Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. Responsibilities include advanced bronchoscopy, pleural care, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree.
• Interventional Pulmonary Fellowship trained and AABIP board certified or eligible.
• Experience with procedures such as EBUS, navigational bronchoscopy, rigid bronchoscopy, airway stenting, and management of complex airway disease.
• Interest in an academic medical center environment, including education, research, and/or quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive clinical care to patients with complex pulmonary and airway disorders.
• Perform advanced diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy procedures, including: Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), Navigational bronchoscopy, Robotic bronchoscopy, Rigid bronchoscopy, Airway stenting, Tumor debulking and ablation, Management of central airway obstruction, Bronchoscopic evaluation of pulmonary nodules and masses.
• Evaluate and manage patients with complex pleural disease, including pleural effusions, pneumothorax, and malignant pleural disease.
• Perform advanced pleural procedures, such as thoracentesis, chest tube placement, indwelling pleural catheter placement, and medical thoracoscopy, as appropriate.
• Collaborate closely with pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and other multidisciplinary teams.
• Educate and mentor residents, fellows, medical students, and advanced practice providers.
