Job summary

UCI Health in Irvine, CA seeks an Admit Worker Manager to schedule Interventional Radiology procedures. You will ensure paperwork is complete and routed, verify funding coverage, and coordinate dates with physicians, staff, and anesthesia.

You will communicate with patients to gather demographic and financial data, provide wait time estimates, and input data into the SMS system, acting as a liaison between admissions and IR.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate general understanding of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT codes.
• Experience with computer software programs such as MS Office, Signature, TDS.
• Experience in a hospital or medical office setting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of registration, third party payers, government funded programs, and managed care.
• Demonstrated experience with referral authorization process.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients for Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures.
• Assure all necessary paperwork is completed and forwarded to appropriate departments.
• Inquire about funding coverage and expiration dates; confirm physician documentation support.
• Coordinate procedure date/time based on physician, staff, room and anesthesiologist availability.
• Communicate with patients to obtain demographic and financial data; liaise between admissions, other departments and IR.
• Input demographic and financial data into the SMS System following standard workflows.
