Job summary

UCI Health in Irvine is seeking an Admit Worker to schedule Interventional Radiology procedures and ensure all paperwork is complete. The role requires coordinating with physicians, staff, rooms and anesthesia, and verifying funding sources for procedures.

You will gather demographic and financial data from patients, provide wait time estimates, and act as a liaison between admissions, other departments and IR, updating schedules as needed in the SMS system.

Qualifications

• General understanding of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT codes.
• Experience with MS Office, Signature, TDS.
• Experience in a hospital or medical office setting.
• Knowledge of registration, third party payers, government funded programs, and managed care.
• Experience with referral authorization process.

Responsibilities

• Schedule IR procedures and ensure paperwork is complete.
• Verify funding sources and physician documentation.
• Coordinate procedure dates with physicians, staff, room, and anesthesia.
• Collect demographic and financial data from patients.
• Provide wait time estimates and communicate updates.
• Serve as liaison among admissions, other departments, and IR.
• Enter demographic and financial data into the SMS system.
