Job summary

Mercy Health – Youngstown, OH is seeking a specialized Special Procedures and Cath Lab Technologist to assist Licensed Practitioners in fluoroscopic and interventional procedures, while maintaining sterile technique and documentation of medications and radiation exposure. Qualifications include ARRT or CCI certification, BLS, and preferred ACLS; EPIC EHR and PACS experience are preferred.

This role supports patient care across adolescent to geriatric populations and adheres to Mercy Health

Qualifications

• Certification and Registration with ARRT or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) (required)
• BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (required)
• ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred)
• Certification in Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography R.T.(R)(CV)(ARRT) (preferred)
• Vascular-Interventional Radiology R.T.(R)(VI)(ARRT) (preferred)
• State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state)

Responsibilities

• Performs high quality diagnostic vascular examinations using ultrasound and physiologic testing equipment.
• Prepares patients for procedures and explains steps to minimize anxiety.
• Contacts referring physician for order clarification when needed.
• Documents findings and preliminary reports in the EMR and adheres to department policy.
• Maintains safety and infection control and protects patient confidentiality.
