Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking an Intervention Specialist to support students with IEPs at Canton College Preparatory School and Wright Preparatory Academy in Canton, Ohio. You will work with teachers to implement targeted interventions and behavior plans in an inclusive classroom setting.

Ideal candidates hold a current state license, knowledge of State Standards, and experience with inclusion or co-teaching. Strong communication and organizational skills, plus MS Office proficiency, are required.

Qualifications

• Current state license required.
• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in full inclusion or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room.
• Growth-focused coaching with frequent observations and action planning.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word & Outlook).
• Excellent organization and time management.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to pass federal/state background checks; multicultural experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cooperate with teachers, interpreting abilities and disabilities, assist in interventions and curriculum modifications.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write goals.
• Work to meet goals related to student achievement and culture.
• Use research-based practices in daily planning and instruction.
• Integrate culturally responsive teaching into lessons.
• Serve as advisor for a designated group of students.
• Communicate with families about academic and social-emotional growth.
• Plan and participate in non-instructional activities like field trips.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
