Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking an Intervention Specialist for Foundation Academy in Mansfield, Ohio, to support students with IEP goals in an inclusive setting. You will collaborate with teachers to modify curriculum and implement behavior plans while driving student achievement and social-emotional growth.

The position requires state licensure, knowledge of standards, and experience in inclusive classrooms or Co-Teaching.

Qualifications

• Current state license
• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards
• Experience in full inclusion or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room
• Coaching environment with frequent observations and progress monitoring
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
• Excellent organization and time management
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Ability to pass FBI/BCI background checks
• Experience in multi-cultural settings preferred

Responsibilities

• Work with teachers to interpret abilities of students and adapt instructions
• Conduct diagnostic assessments to guide instruction
• Conduct functional behavior assessments
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans
• Lead IEP meetings and draft IEP goals
• Pursue goals for student achievement and culture
• Apply research-based planning and instruction
• Incorporate culturally responsive teaching into daily lessons
• Serve as advisor to a group of students
• Communicate with families about student progress
• Plan and support non-instructional activities and events
• Perform other duties as assigned
