The Intervention Specialist supports educational and behavioral goals of all students with a focus on students with an Individualized Education Program.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in a full room inclusion model or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model.
• Growth-focused coaching with frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Word and Outlook; MS Office.
• Excellent organization and time management.
• Ability to pass FBI/BCI background checks.
• Experience in a multi-cultural setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support educational and behavioral goals for all students, focusing on IEPs.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to interpret abilities and disabilities and assist in interventions.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments and write behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write IEP goals/objectives.
• Communicate regularly with families about academic and social-emotional growth.
• Participate in planning and implementation of non-instructional activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
