Job summary

ACCEL Schools’ Mount Auburn Preparatory Academy in Cincinnati, OH seeks an Intervention Specialist to support students via IEP-driven instruction and behavior plans. The role emphasizes collaboration with teachers, inclusion models, and family communication.

The candidate should hold an Ohio Intervention Specialist license or substitute license, or a bachelor’s degree in Education, and demonstrate strong organization, planning, and coaching skills in a growth-minded environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Ohio Intervention Specialist license or an Ohio Unlimited Substitute License or a bachelor’s degree in Education with eligibility to pursue licensure.
• Experience in a full room inclusion or co-teaching model.
• High level of written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers to interpret abilities and disabilities and modify curriculum as needed.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and draft IEP goals and objectives.
• Relentlessly work to meet student achievement and culture goals.
• Utilize research-based best practices in planning and instruction.
• Incorporate culturally responsive teaching into daily lessons and interactions.
• Serve as advisor for a designated set of students.
• Communicate regularly with families about academic and social-emotional growth.
• Participate in planning and implementing non-instructional activities such as events and field trips.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
