Job summary

Foundation Academy in Mansfield, Ohio, is seeking an Intervention Specialist to support students with IEP goals, emphasizing rigorous instruction and social-emotional development.

You will collaborate with teachers, conduct assessments, support behavior plans, and facilitate IEP meetings. The role requires experience with inclusion/co-teaching models, strong communication, and the ability to engage diverse students.

Qualifications

• Experience with inclusion or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room.
• Familiarity with State Standards and Common Core.
• Experience in a growth-focused coaching environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to pass federal and state background checks (FBI/BCI).
• Experience in multicultural settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to interpret abilities and disabilities and support intervention strategies.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and draft goals and objectives.
• Work toward student achievement and culture goals and state targets.
• Apply research-based planning and instruction in daily lessons.
• Incorporate culturally responsive teaching into daily practice.
• Serve as advisor for assigned students.
• Communicate with families about academic and social-emotional growth.
• Plan and support non-instructional activities such as events and field trips.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
