Job summary

ACCEL Schools is seeking an Intervention Specialist for Lake Erie Preparatory School in Cleveland, Ohio to support students with IEP goals within an inclusive setting. You will collaborate with teachers to implement intervention strategies, conduct assessments, and lead IEP processes.

The role emphasizes evidence-based planning, data-driven progress monitoring, and strong communication with families and staff to promote student achievement and social-emotional growth.

Qualifications

• Current state license.
• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in full room inclusion or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model.
• Growth-focused coaching with frequent observations, debriefs, and progress monitoring.
• High quality written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook).
• Excellent organization and time management.
• Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks (FBI/BCI).
• Experience in multi-cultural settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with classroom teachers, interpreting abilities and disabilities; modify general education curricula as needed and assist with assignments.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write IEP goals/objectives.
• Meet goals related to student achievement and culture; monitor progress.
• Utilize research-based best practices in daily planning and instruction.
• Integrate culturally responsive teaching into daily lessons and interactions with students, families, and colleagues.
• Serve as advisor for a designated set of students.
• Communicate regularly with families about academic and social-emotional growth.
• Plan and participate in non-instructional activities like social events and field trips.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
