Job summary

Cleveland Sports Academy, part of ACCEL Schools LLC, seeks an Intervention Specialist to support students with IEPs and behavior goals in an inclusive setting. Work involves collaborating with teachers, conducting assessments, and facilitating IEP meetings to drive student growth and engagement.

The role emphasizes culturally responsive instruction, data-driven planning, and strong family communication within a charter school context in Cleveland, OH.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in inclusion/Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model.
• Comfort in a growth-focused coaching environment with observations and progress monitoring.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Excellent organization and time management.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Eligible to pass FBI/BCI background checks.
• Experience in a multi-cultural setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers to interpret abilities/disabilities and adjust instruction.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Perform functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write IEP goals.
• Endeavor to meet student achievement, culture, and state goals.
• Apply research-based practices to daily planning and instruction.
• Integrate culturally responsive teaching into lessons.
• Advise a designated group of students.
• Regularly communicate with families about student growth.
• Assist in planning noninstructional activities such as events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
