Job summary

ACCEL Schools’ Academy of Arts & Technology in Marion, Ohio is seeking an Intervention Specialist to support students with and without IEPs in a district that emphasizes project-based learning and social-emotional growth.

You will collaborate with classroom teachers, conduct diagnostic and functional behavior assessments, write IEP goals, and facilitate meetings while maintaining strong communication with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards
• Experience in full room inclusion or Co‑Teaching in a Resource Room
• Growth‑focused coaching environment with frequent observations and progress monitoring
• High quality written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to pass federal and state background checks (FBI/BCI)
• Experience working in a multi‑cultural setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with teachers, interpret abilities and disabilities, modify general education curricula, assist in class assignments
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction
• Conduct functional behavior assessments
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans
• Facilitate IEP meetings and write goals and objectives
• Communicate regularly with families about student growth
• Participate in planning and implementation of non-instructional activities such as events and field trips
• Perform other duties as assigned
