Qualifications

• Minimum four years experience in the implementation of adult and/or juvenile probation programs.
• Four-year degree from a college or university in criminal justice, public administration or a related area; additional education can substitute for up to two years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of probation laws, regulations, procedures, and department operations at the trial court level; federal requirements for transfer of probationers between states.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with DCAs in other states to ensure compliance with federal regulations governing probation transfers.
• Supervise the Probation Division Interstate Compact staff and the Reimbursement staff, including processing vouchers and personnel changes.
• Provide training on interstate compacts and prepare written reports with recommendations.
• Prepare annual budgets for probation reimbursement and coordinate with other units for planning and analysis.
• Travel to counties to advise and assist with interstate compact program implementation and compliance.
• Communicate clearly in writing and verbally with court services departments and external evaluators.
