Job summary

Carpe is hiring its first Recruiter to own hiring across our fast-growing organization in Durham, NC. You will own full-cycle recruiting for finance, ecommerce, creative, operations, product, and marketing, learning every part of the company as you identify exceptional people who fit Carpe’s culture.

You’ll also onboard freelancers and contractors, building a bench of independent talent for future needs. At 30 people, each hire changes the company, and you’ll shape our internal recruiting

Qualifications

• Proven ability to source and engage passive candidates.
• Experience building searches from scratch and reaching out to talent.
• Strong questioning, listening, and assessment skills.
• Ability to manage multiple searches across functions without losing momentum.
• High EQ and clear written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Own full cycle hiring for all roles, from intake to close.
• Source proactively with targeted searches and passive talent.
• Assess candidates, understand ownership and impact.
• Lead initial screen with a strong point of view on fit.
• Partner with managers to define what exceptional looks like.
• Own candidate experience from outreach to offer.
• Build relationships with freelancers and contractors.
