Job summary

Bennett & Pless, Inc. seeks bright and motivated engineering students for its summer internship program in our Orlando and Sarasota offices. You’ll work with our structural engineers and Revit/AutoCAD designers on a variety of project types.

You’ll design elements within structural systems, prepare construction drawings, and assist with calculations and RFI responses under the project engineer's direction. The role emphasizes self-motivation, teamwork, and strong communication to meet client

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Pursuit of a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is a plus.
• Ability to learn applicable codes in project-specific jurisdictions and apply to the project.

Responsibilities

• Design elements within structural systems for a range of project types.
• Coordinate with structural engineers and Revit/Cad Designers to ensure deliverables meet client expectations and Bennett & Pless quality levels.
• Prepare construction drawings in Revit/AutoCAD, review submittals and RFIs, and assist with calculations.

Job description

Bennett & Pless is seeking bright and motivated engineering students for our summer internship program in our Orlando and Sarasota offices.

You’d Be Responsible For

• Designing specific elements with in overall structural systems for a variety of project types, including manufacturing, distribution, data center, commercial, self-storage, churches, historical, public sector, retail, adaptive reuse, and renovations, and existing facility analysis.
• Interacting and coordinating with structural engineers and Revit/Cad Designers to produce deliverables are compliant with client expectations and Bennett & Pless quality levels.
• Preparing construction drawings in Revit/AutoCAD format, preparing calculations as directed by the project structural engineer, reviewing shop drawings and submittals, performing site reviews with the project structural engineer, and preparing RFI responses as directed by the project structural engineer.

Other Qualifications

• Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Pursuit of a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is a plus.

• Experience in Revit is a plus. Experience in AutoCAD is required.
• Experience with industry standard software, including but not limited to Microsoft products, Bentley (RAM) products, RISA, EnerCalc, Adapt, etc.
