Job summary

Bennett & Pless Inc is seeking bright and motivated engineering students for our summer internship program in our Atlanta office. You would be responsible for designing elements within overall structural systems and coordinating with engineers and designers to produce compliant deliverables.

Qualifications include pursuing a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, and a Master’s in Structural Engineering is a plus. Experience with Revit/AutoCAD and other industry software is preferred.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Pursuit of a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is a plus.
• Ability to learn applicable codes in project jurisdictions and apply to projects.

Responsibilities

• Design elements within structural systems for diverse project types.
• Coordinate with structural engineers and Revit/AutoCAD designers to deliver compliant deliverables.
• Prepare construction drawings in Revit/AutoCAD and assist with calculations and submittals.

Education

Intern

Bennett & Pless is seeking bright and motivated engineering students for our summer internship program in our Atlanta office.

You’d be responsible for:

• Designing specific elements with in overall structural systems for a variety of project types, including manufacturing, distribution, data center, commercial, self-storage, churches, historical, public sector, retail, adaptive reuse, and renovations, and existing facility analysis.
• Interacting and coordinating with structural engineers and Revit/Cad Designers to produce deliverables are compliant with client expectations and Bennett & Pless quality levels.
• Preparing construction drawings in Revit/AutoCAD format, preparing calculations as directed by the project structural engineer, reviewing shop drawings and submittals, performing site reviews with the project structural engineer, and preparing RFI responses as directed by the project structural engineer.

Other Qualifications:

• Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Pursuit of a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is a plus.

• Experience in Revit is a plus. Experience in AutoCAD is required.
• Experience with industry standard software, including but not limited to Microsoft products, Bentley (RAM) products, RISA, EnerCalc, Adapt, etc.
