Job summary

Bennett & Pless Inc. in Nashville, TN, is seeking bright engineering students for our summer internship in our Nashville office. You’ll design elements within structural systems for diverse project types and prepare construction drawings in Revit/AutoCAD.

You’ll collaborate with structural engineers and CAD designers to meet client expectations, review submittals, and respond to RFIs. Strong communication and a proactive mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Pursuit of a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is a plus.
• Experience with Revit is a plus. Experience in AutoCAD is required.
• Experience with industry standard software including Microsoft Office, Bentley RAM, RISA, EnerCalc, Adapt, etc.

Responsibilities

• Designing specific elements within structural systems for diverse project types and existing facility analysis.
• Interacting and coordinating with structural engineers and Revit/Cad Designers to ensure deliverables meet client expectations and Bennett & Pless quality levels.
• Preparing construction drawings in Revit/AutoCAD, performing site reviews, reviewing shop drawings and RFIs as directed.

Bennett & Pless is seeking bright and motivated engineering students for our summer internship program in our Nashville office.

You’d be responsible for:

• Designing specific elements with in overall structural systems for a variety of project types, including manufacturing, distribution, data center, commercial, self-storage, churches, historical, public sector, retail, adaptive reuse, and renovations, and existing facility analysis.
• Interacting and coordinating with structural engineers and Revit/Cad Designers to produce deliverables are compliant with client expectations and Bennett & Pless quality levels.
• Preparing construction drawings in Revit/AutoCAD format, preparing calculations as directed by the project structural engineer, reviewing shop drawings and submittals, performing site reviews with the project structural engineer, and preparing RFI responses as directed by the project structural engineer.

Other Qualifications:

• Pursuit of a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is a plus.
• Ability to learn applicable codes in project-specific jurisdictions and apply to the project.
• Experience in Revit is a plus. Experience in AutoCAD is required.
• Experience with industry standard software, including but not limited to Microsoft products, Bentley (RAM) products, RISA, EnerCalc, Adapt, etc.
