Job summary

Mercy Medical Center is offering an internship focused on patient access. You will perform basic office tasks, ensure accurate patient information, and respond professionally to patients and staff to reflect Mercy's standards.

You will contact patients via phone, Epic, texting, or email to schedule appointments and document attempts in the system, supporting efficient practice operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or currently enrolled in HS with literacy assessment.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate using multiple tools — phone, email, Epic Software.
• Ability to document attempts in appropriate software per protocols.
• Ability to schedule patient appointments per practice protocol.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this position is to perform basic office functions to facilitate patient access into the practice, obtaining accurate patient information and creating a positive office image by responding professionally to all patients, staff and other customers in a manner consistent with the Mercy Medical Center Philosophy.

This position requires that you use your customer service skills to contact patient via phone, Epic software, texting and or email to schedule appointments.

Documenting attempts in Epic and other software as indicated.

Schedule appointments appropriately per practice protocol.

Requirements

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED or if currently enrolled in HS, pass a literacy assessment
