Job summary

U.S. Multimodal Group in Michigan is seeking an Intermodal Business Coordinator to manage our customers' intermodal freight.

The IBC works in a team and coordinates movements from origin to delivery, building relationships with railways, drayage providers, and customers to meet requirements. You will learn our customers' processes and ensure full fulfillment, maintain shipment data daily, and support problem resolution with proactive communication.

Qualifications

• Experience in intermodal freight handling or shipping operations.
• 1-2 years of industry experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business administration, or related field is preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple responsibilities.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• High attention to detail and strong time management.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
• Willingness to learn and build relationships with rail and drayage vendors.

Responsibilities

• Process orders in Alliance operating system.
• Build relationships with rail, dray, and customers to meet requirements.
• Manage customer business to ensure compliance and update shipment data daily.
• Ensure timely pickup and delivery; communicate issues to customers.
• Escalate issues outside SOPs to Alliance management.
• Train new team members on accounts handled.
