Job summary

U.S. Multimodal Group is seeking an experienced Intermodal Dispatcher to plan and coordinate freight movements across trucks, trains, and ships.

You will work closely with drivers, carriers, and logistics staff to schedule pickups, track shipments, and resolve issues to ensure on-time delivery. Ideal candidates bring experience in dispatch roles, strong intermodal knowledge, and excellent communication skills, with a focus on safety, efficiency and cost control.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a dispatcher or in a similar logistics role.
• Strong knowledge of intermodal operations, routing and scheduling.
• Excellent communication with drivers, carriers and customers.
• Solid problem-solving abilities and quick decision-making.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills for handling multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule freight movements across trucks, trains and ships.
• Assign drivers and carriers to routes and monitor progress and costs.
• Act as primary contact for drivers, customers, and internal teams.
• Identify delays or issues and implement contingency plans to keep shipments on schedule.
• Prepare and maintain shipment records and required paperwork.
