Job summary

U.S. Multimodal Group in Michigan is seeking an Intermodal Business Coordinator (IBC) to lead frontline intermodal freight operations.

You will manage traffic from origin to delivery, build relationships with rail, drayage providers and customers, and communicate requirements to ensure on-time, compliant shipments. In a team-based setting you’ll learn customer processes, update the Alliance operating system daily, resolve issues, and mentor new team members.

Qualifications

• Experience in intermodal freight handling or shipping operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business administration, or related field.
• 1–2 years of industry experience.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Attention to detail and time management.
• Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Process orders in Alliance operating system.
• Build relationships with rail, drayage providers and customers.
• Update shipment data daily and ensure SOP compliance.
• Ensure timely pickup and delivery, resolving issues.
• Communicate issues to Alliance management as needed.
• Train new team members on accounts.
