Job summary

Gulf Winds International, Inc. in Norfolk seeks a Dispatcher to ensure timely, accurate service to customers and drivers. You will manage load distribution, monitor performance and coordinate with Safety, Driver Recruitment, Customer Service and Sales.

The role requires strong problem-solving, leadership and communication skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. High school diploma or GED and living in a GWI market area are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities.
• Self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Proven problem-solving and load-distribution skills.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Outlook; Prism Software preferred.
• Logistics and intermodal experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Independent Contractor satisfaction by facilitating load distribution.
• Achieve driver retention and growth goals through strong relationships with drivers.
• Collaborate with Safety, Driver Recruitment, Customer Service and Sales.
• Promote operational excellence focused on safety and quality.
• Execute daily workload to meet customer requirements for world-class service.
• Track and manage Gulf Winds equipment for proper utilization.
• Cross-train to cover workload when the Terminal Manager is out.
• Communicate challenges and opportunities with creative solutions.
• Manage costs to increase terminal profitability while minimizing costs for customers.
• Maintain facility upkeep, stocking supplies and equipment.
• Monitor quarterly KPIs to support company goals.
