Job summary

Rose Hills is seeking a Cemetery Maintenance/Manual Laborer in Whittier, CA to perform essential tasks across graves, mausoleums, crypts, and niches. You will open/close properties, read orders, drive company vehicles, and work with supervision while promoting safety and professional conduct.

The role requires physical labor, valid CA driver's license, and ability to use hand tools. Compensation is hourly and includes benefits; opportunities for growth exist with promotions at two and five years.

Qualifications

• Experience in landscaping, general construction, warehouse, or physical labor.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid CA Driver’s Licence.
• Ability to use hand tools and equipment.
• Mechanical skill to perform minor adjustments and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Open and close cemetery properties (graves, mausoleums, crypts, and niches) using proper procedures, tools and safety regulations.
• Locate and work with graves, crypts, and niches anywhere within the park.
• Safely drive company vehicles and equipment onto and off cemetery lawns.
• Read and understand interment orders and information printed on interment lists/cards.
• Adhere to safety standards and report unsafe equipment or practices to management.
• Respond to work orders timely and interact with colleagues with tact and courtesy.
• Work with minimal supervision and set priorities.
• Pursue annual SMART goals and continuous skill development.
• Promote the company image and public recognition of its efforts.
• Maintain attendance and punctuality.
