Job summary

Rose Hills Company in Whittier, CA is hiring a Cemetery Maintenance Associate to open/close cemetery properties, locate graves, and operate vehicles according to safety standards. You will read interment orders and work with accuracy while maintaining respectful interactions with grieving families.

The role requires lifting up to 100 lbs, basic hand tool use, and a valid CA driver’s license. This is a full-time, hourly position with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in landscaping, general construction, warehouse, or physical labor demonstrating steady employment.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid CA Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Open and close cemetery properties (graves, mausoleums, crypts, and niches) using proper procedures and safety.
• Locate and work with graves, crypts, and niches anywhere within the park.
• Safely drive company vehicles and equipment onto and off cemetery lawns.
• Read and understand interment orders and interment lists.
• Work according to safety standards and report unsafe equipment or practices.
