Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Project Designer in Columbia, SC to develop drawings and diagrams that meet client goals.

The role requires a Bachelor degree in Architecture or Interior Design and 1+ year of relevant experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD or REVIT. You’ll coordinate with allied design professionals and assist with contract documents for pricing, procurement, and installation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited program (NCIDQ a plus).
• Minimum of 1+ years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or REVIT and Architectural Desktop.
• Ability to read and review construction documents; provide technical sign-off/approval.
• Understanding of design/construction technical aspects (low voltage, materials, budgets, constructability, HVAC).
• Versed in the five phases of an interior/architectural project.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage several projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Formulate preliminary space plans and sketches that integrate the client’s needs.
• Confirm preliminary space plans and design concepts are safe, functional, and meet all requirements.
• Compile selection of colors, materials and finishes to convey the concept and meet various requirements.
• Compile selection and specification of furniture, fixtures, equipment and millwork, including layout drawings and contract docs.
• Coordinate and collaborate with other design professionals.
• Ensure construction documents are signed and sealed as required by jurisdiction.
• Assist with administration of contract documents, bids and negotiations.
• Provide reporting on project progress and completion.
