Job summary

Havertys Furniture seeks an Interior Design Consultant to craft living spaces for customers using in-store, in-home, and virtual consultations. You will design floor plans and 3D renderings, guiding clients from concept to purchase while collaborating with sales teams.

Ideal candidates hold a design degree or relevant experience; ASID preferred. The role offers paid training, flexible pay options, and strong earning potential through commissions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in interior design or related field; or 2–4 years related experience and/or training. ASID certification preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and be able to drive and provide personal transportation to customer in-home appointments.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and prior use of a Room Planner software is beneficial. Proficiency in Microsoft Office components, internet software, and full-shot image software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with customers and sales consultants to create rooms and spaces while recommending furniture and accessories to give customers a completed, designed look.
• Offer in-home, in-store, and virtual consultations to understand customers’ needs, style, investment, and space(s).
• Create floor plans and photo-realistic 3D renderings of Havertys furniture and accessories in the customer’s home.
• Assist Sales Consultants in closing transactions by providing your design knowledge to Havertys customers.
• Assist Sales Consultants scheduling or attending a qualified home visit.
• Coordinate with the customer during the home visit and the final presentation to review items selected, pricing, and delivery schedules.
• Provide feedback to Sales Consultant and Branch Manager after each house visit and upon completion of the floorplan and presentation board.
• Assist Sales Consultant with the creation of special-order SKUs and increase sales reserves.
• Provide constructive feedback to customers to help build sales and increase average tickets.
• Have knowledge of special sales, financing plans, delivery procedures, warranties, etc.
• Reinforce customer selections and help bring sales to closure.
