Job summary

Havertys Furniture seeks a Design Consultant Assistant to support in-home design services across multiple showroom locations. You will schedule, prep, and accompany clients on home visits with the Design Consultant, helping with furniture placement, color coordination, and presenting room designs using approved templates.

Responsibilities include assisting on in-store engagements, creating floor plans, and aiding the Sales Consultant with special-order SKUs and post-purchase presentations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in interior design or related field; or 2 to 4 years related experience and/or training/ or equivalent combination of education and experience. ASID certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Design Consultant and/or Sales Consultant by scheduling and attending qualified home visits, including evening/weekend hours.
• Visits customers' homes with the Design Consultant to support the presentation and room design.
• Assist Design Consultant with building personalized presentations using approved templates and room plans.
• May draw floor plans using Havertys.com floor planner software.
• Provide feedback after each house visit and after floor plan/presentation completion.
• Assist Sales Consultant with creating special-order SKUs and sales reserves.
• Assist with creating floor plans for in-store clients to help visualize purchases and close sales.
• Provide constructive feedback to help build the sale and raise average ticket.
